Catalogic Information Protection is a server-side software application that protects confidential data from network and system failure, along with file corruption and other security threats. Catalogic Information Protection provides users with the ability to protect their confidential information with an easy-to-use, control-panel interface that allows users to change various options such as enabling or disabling the scanning process, controlling access to shared folders and information, and so on. Users can also set rules for how certain applications can run while offline and/or on a secured network. This server-side application can be used with Windows as well as UNIX and Linux.
Catalogic Management Software offers four major components: Catalogic Server, Catalogic Client, Catalogic Security Manager, and Catalogic Enterprise Manager. The Catalogic server is an interactive storage management system that stores, retrieves, and manages all client locks, passwords and access control keys. It provides centralized administration for managing client databases, and client access settings, and centrally manages multiple servers (the Catalogs) on the network. The Catalogic Client is a client-server application that acts as the middleman between the user and the networks, and provides simplified access control functions via a GUI ( Graphical User Interface). The Catalogic Security Manager is a self-contained, service-oriented security management application that controls all the security features in the Catalogic software.
The Catalogic software is based on the strong principle of license enforcement that requires the user to agree to the terms and conditions set out by the distributors when they purchase license key copies of the software. This ensures that users cannot easily and conveniently make unauthorized transfers of license keys and allow them to have greater control over data protection and security. With the latest release of Catalogic Server version 7.2 (Build 64), an unbranded Windows server is not required if one installs the server with the use of a CD-ROM. This implies that both free and paid versions of Catalogic are able to run seamlessly together on the same operating system.
